You can check the status of your application, using your check application number (eg. AP123456).
If you don't have your AP number, you can request it as part of this check.
Most applications are completed within four to six weeks.
Processing can take longer if:
- you have relevant criminal history, or
- the Screening Unit needs to wait for information from other agencies (like SA Police or other government departments) before an application can be completed
Once the screening unit receives information from other agencies, you'll be sent an email explaining if you have been cleared for work or whether further assessment is required.
The Screening Unit does not issue hard copy clearance letters or certificates. When your screening assessment is complete you'll be notified by email.
