Returning to study

Gaining new knowledge and learning new skills can be a life changing experience. There are many personal and professional reasons for returning to study:
  • refreshing or expanding your knowledge and skills
  • learning a new skill
  • working toward a career change
  • preparing to return to workforce.

Why choose community education?

A range of different organisations can help you improve your reading, writing and number skills, and the courses are usually:

  • less formal than those delivered by other institutions
  • not as expensive as formal courses
  • flexible and short
  • can be studied in full or part-time modes.

Most courses are at an elementary level and focus on developing skills.

For help with skills or career development advice in your local area see Reading, writing, numbers and other skills on Skills SA.
