Freedom of information

The State Records of South Australia website provides an introduction to freedom of information (FOI) including:

• documents you can and can't access
• how to make an FOI application
• amending inaccurate documents about you. 

The FOI Act does not apply to private businesses or organisations in South Australia but it does allow you to:

• request access to documents in the possession of a state government agency, local council or university
• request the amendment of documents that relate to you or your organisation that are incomplete, incorrect, out of date or misleading
• eek a review of a decision made by a state government agency, local council or university.
