The South Australian Government is committed to strengthening services and support for the volunteer sector to help create a stronger community. The Office for Volunteers is focused on building the Government and volunteer sector partnership, and providing advice which enhances the Government's capacity to identify, prioritise and respond appropriately to the needs of the sector. The Office for Volunteers facilitates a number of programs and initiatives that are specifically designed to help support, encourage and promote volunteering in South Australia.

Each week the Notice of Vacancies service promotes career opportunities within the South Australian Government. The Notice of Vacancies is a service provided by the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC). The Notice of Vacancies service does however provides a public website with associated public media avenues to attract possible candidates considering a career opportunity within the South Australian Public Sector.

The Social Inclusion Initiative is about finding ways to make sure everyone who lives in South Australia has access to all that our society offers; it is about helping people live fulfilling lives and to feel a part of the community. Unemployment, low income, poor educational attainment, low skill levels, inadequate housing, bad health, violence - these things can all contribute to social exclusion.

The South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission (SAMEAC) is a statutory body whose members are nominated by the Minister for Multicultural Affairs to Cabinet and appointed by the Governor. SAMEAC’s primary functions are to increase awareness and understanding of the ethnic diversity of the South Australian community and the implications of that diversity, and advise and assist the Government and public authorities in all matters relating to multiculturalism and ethnic affairs.
