Crisis helplines

Emergency Services

In a life threatening emergency :
  • Dial 000 and ask for the ambulance, fire or police service. You can call this number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Text call emergency — for TTY or ASCII :
  • Dial 106 for the Emergency Relay Service. If you have an emergency and you need to use the TTY (teletypewriter) or a computer modem to make telephone calls, you can call the National Relay Service to reach emergency services. You can call this number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Mobile Assistance Patrol transports people under the influence of alcohol or other drugs to places of safety and support. Service available 7 days a week, 6PM–4AM.

Support and emergency accommodation for Aboriginal women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Service available 9AM–5PM Monday–Friday.

Emergency medical and counselling services for people who have been raped or sexually assaulted. Yarrow Place can help you report assault to the police, but you do not have to involve the police.
