Transitional accommodation centres
Transitional accommodation centres provide safe, secure and culturally appropriate accommodation to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people. They provide accommodation to people who are travelling between remote communities or across borders to access services - eg medical supports.
Wangka Wilurrara (located at Ceduna) and Lakeview (located at Port Augusta) provide affordable and safe accommodation for up to 12 weeks. They are staffed by people with local knowledge and Aboriginal language skills, and can provide information, advice and referral to other services. They may also be able to help you return to your community or country.
They provide various types of accommodation, including:

- one bedroom units with kitchens (independent living units)
- large and small wiltjas (tents).
