Searching facilities

A range of searching facilities is available to the general public and account customers and is located in the self-help area in the LSG office. These include:

historical searches on computerised titles
check searches
location requests
historical name index of ownership from 1858 to 1975
land tenure maps
survey plans
road and rack plans
survey information
the hundred and township book
the power of attorney index
building details search
viewing and printing of electronic images of scanned documents and paper certificates of title
the bills of sale and stock mortgage index.

Information about property is also available online through the Property Location Browser, including:

the plan parcel
certificate of title reference
the valuation number.

Land survey searches

There are a variety of sources of land survey information. Some information is available online through PIERS Online or PropertyAssist while others are held at the Land Titles Office (LTO) or State Records of South Australia.
These records include:

deposited, filed and provisional plans
community and strata plans
road, council, exploration, nautical and railway plans
diagram book pages
parliamentary plans
permanent survey mark locality plans
the survey graphic index
hundred and town books
property books
town planning books
area and checking books
county plans.

Custom and bulk data extracts

Custom or bulk data products can be compiled using data from the land information systems database. A fee is payable for these services. Fees are determined by the amount required to recover costs associated with the development of a suitable data product. This can include:

technical analysis
software development
application development
cost of professional or outsourced services that may be required.

Each request is subject to a standard administration fee of $400 to cover the preparation of documents, including a data supply agreement and schedule.

A commercial fee may also be charged if you intend to use the data for business related purposes - eg development and commercialisation of derivative information products.

Property sales data

Property sales data collected by the Government for the development and commercialisation of property sale products is available from licensed organisations. You can contact the resellers, listed below, for more information about their property sales information products.
