Building Code of Australia (BCA)
The Building Code of Australia 2012 (BCA 2012), as modified by the variations and additions for South Australia contained in the Appendix to that Code, was gazetted in the Government Gazette on 19 April 2012 for adoption on 1 May 2012.
Minister's Specification SA 3.12.0.1(a) - Heating and cooling loads for elevated buildings with a lightweight framed flooring system and transportable buildings
A new Minister's Specification SA 3.12.0.1 (a) was gazetted in the Government Gazette on 19 April 2012 for adoption on 1 May 2012 and applies to Class 1 buildings that are elevated and constructed with a lightweight framed flooring system, and transportable buildings.

SA Housing Code
From 1 May 2012, Volume Two of the Building Code of Australia with the SA variations will be the only regulatory document for house construction.

Roof framing and truss checklists
The Guide to Safer Roof Framing (PDF 888KB) assists the building industry, councils and private certifiers to understand and apply the new rules related to design, documentation, assessment, approval, storage, handling, construction and inspection of roof framing.
The checklists referred to in Regulation 74(5) and Schedule 5 of the Development Regulations 2008 were gazetted on 19 January 2012 and can be accessed below:

Development (Building Rules Consent - Disability Access) Variation Regulations 2011
Following adoption of improved access requirements for new buildings from 1 May 2011, work has been underway to amend requirements in the Development Act 1993 and the Development Regulations 2008 for improving access to existing buildings when alterations and additions are being undertaken.
Draft regulations have been released for consultation and can be viewed on the building matters on consultation webpage.
New maps
Maps have been developed for use in conjunction with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and illustrate various aspects of the regulatory requirements. These maps have recently been updated to reflect various changes in the BCA.
