An online search tool has been developed to help identify areas in South Australia that may be prone to bushfires.
The search tool finds:
- properties that are located within a bushfire protection area
- what level of bushfire risk the area has assigned to it
- what minimum bushfire related planning and building requirements apply to any dwellings proposed to be constructed in the area.
The search system applies to the 39 councils with bushfire protection areas. These councils are located on:
- Eyre Peninsula
- Yorke Peninsula
- Kangaroo Island
- South-east
- Riverland
- Murray Bridge
- Mid-north
- Mount Lofty Ranges
- parts of metropolitan Adelaide region.

There are two search types:
- map search
- property search.
