Some infectious diseases are notifiable. In South Australia this means that the doctor and laboratory diagnosing this disease are required to report it by law, under the Public and Environmental Health Act 1987.
To notify the Communicable Disease Control Branch phone the South Australian Government Department of Health on 8226 7177.
Notification will ensure that steps are taken, where necessary, to prevent the spread of an infectious disease.
